If you're dealing with a door that won't move, a spring that's let go, or an opener that's just clicking, tell us that up front and we'll get a truck routed your way. Our shop sits at 2601 Hughes Rd, Liberty, MO 64068, and that's also where parts and stock live, so if a job needs a part we don't carry on the truck, it's a short trip back for it.
We don't do sales pitches over the phone. We ask what the door is doing, what year the house is (a lot of homes around here went up between 1951 and 2002, with the bulk from the 60s and 70s, and that era tells us a lot about what hardware we'll find), and whether it's safe to leave the door where it is until we arrive. If it's not safe - a door stuck open, a spring that's snapped with the door still up - we say so and prioritize accordingly.
One honest limit: we work on residential garage doors and openers. We don't do gate systems or commercial dock doors, and if that's what you've got, we'll tell you that on the first call instead of wasting your afternoon.
What We Are Called Out For
Most calls are springs. Houses built in the Liberty area's common range - 1951 through 2002, with a lot of stock from the 60s and 70s - are old enough that original torsion springs are well past their cycle life, and a lot of owners don't know a spring has a rated lifespan at all until it breaks with a bang. We replace torsion and extension springs, and we'll tell you straight if your setup needs a size or type that isn't common anymore.
After springs, it's openers - chain and belt drives that have started grinding, remotes that stopped syncing, safety sensors knocked out of alignment. Track and roller wear shows up often too, especially on doors that have seen a winter or two of the region's cold, moderate climate band; ice and cold snaps stiffen grease and tighten metal tolerances, and that's when a marginal roller finally gives out.
We also get cable and panel calls - a cable that's frayed off the drum, a bottom panel dented from a backed-into car. Some of these are quick fixes. Some, especially on a door that's near the end of its service life anyway, aren't worth sinking more money into, and we'll say that instead of running up a bill on a door you should replace.
